Data Collection

AOL allows the collection of non-personally identifiable information within an advertisement such as zip code, state, area code, etc.

Any ad collecting personally identifiable information is subject to prior AOL review and approval and must contain, at a minimum, the following components: 

  • Clear identification/branding of the advertiser
  • A direct link to the advertiser's privacy policy adjacent to the "submit" button
  • Clear indication of the purpose for collecting the requested information
